Riding With Tiago

On Saturday I met up with Tiago from Ride’n’Desire to explore the city by bike. Tiago is a Portuguese expat, theater producer and bike tour operator in between gigs. His passion for bicycles is obvious, if only for the fact that he rides around on a genuine Chinese Flying Pigeon from the 50’s, which he [...]

Just an Amsterdam native who won't take his city and its cycling extravaganza for granted anymore, thinking these posts might be clues to others, inspiration perhaps, if you will...

Paris - Saturday

We spent most of the afternoon and evening chatting up a storm about the Vélib’ program, cycling in Paris, life in general and enjoyed the numerous Cycle Chic encounters. Oh yes, this means we partly conducted our interview riding our bikes, just like I did when Marie visited Amsterdam. We were also fortunate to catch up on a cycling Parisienne to ask her about her bicycle helmet and how she feels about cycling in Paris. She was nice and very forthcoming, also for allowing us to take up her time. Lastly, riding home, I couldn’t help myself at Place de la Bastille.

I hope you don’t mind this video being almost 23 minutes long. I usually keep it under 10 minutes, but I made an exception as that Saturday offered too much for me to discard.

‘Riding With Tiago’ and go to Amsterdamize Bicycle TV to watch this and every other video posted on Amsterdamize, for your viewing pleasure!

This video was entirely recorded with a Nokia N95.

When we were in Paris last year I wondered what cycling there would be like. Every time I attempted to find a Velo Libre bike, I came up empty. They are very popular!

    Really enjoyed the movie Marc!

it’s improved immensely, Les, 23.000 and counting now. I saw so many stations (and I covered pretty much all the arrondissements) I got really convinced about its availability.

    Good! And thanks again!

Great production! I love the scenery and appreciate madame Parisienne’s honesty… she was very straightforward in her belief. Good stuff!

What is it about biking and Paris? Two things I could watch in motion or stillness all day. Thanks for sharing yet again!

Be careful out there on your one-handed world tours!

It’s love, Sigrid, straight up love :)

Always careful, no worries, I wouldn’t have turned 37 this summer otherwise..

There’s one more Paris video coming today, with your permission :)
