Tour De Force

On Monday afternoon I went for a last tour through Paris, cycling around Montmartre, on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, around Place Charles de Gaulle, underneath the Eiffel Tower, across Montparnasse, along the banks of the Seine and oozing through 1 Arrondissement back to my friends’ house, then quickly catching my train back to Amsterdam. Just an Amsterdam native who won't take his city and its cycling extravaganza for granted anymore, thinking these posts might be clues to others, inspiration perhaps, if you will...

I edited this video as a mellow ode to a beautiful city and its people, who are increasingly embracing ’slow cycling’ with style and passion.

Vive le Vélo Libre!

Enjoy the ride! And go to Amsterdamize Bicycle TV to watch this and every other video posted on Amsterdamize, for your viewing pleasure!

Paris - Monday Paris - Monday Paris - Monday Paris - Monday
Paris - Monday Paris - Monday Paris - Monday Leaving Paris

Soundtracks: ‘When You Feel It’, ‘Darlin’ Do Not Fear’ & ‘She’s Mine’ by Brett Dennen.

(Meanwhile I modestly celebrate my 100th post since the start of Amsterdamize on May 2nd, 2008)

Beautifully done! I love seeing my old neighborhood from a bike-eye view. So what was the steepest hill you climbed in the 18th?

thanks, Tamara! I don’t really know, any climb percentage higher than an average bridge over Amsterdam’s canals I tend to block from my short and long term memory.. :-p

(I think the next one from that spot I filmed)

Cheers, Justwilliams, the 100th episode mention was really more about the fact that this is the first blog in 7 years I genuinely love working on, and I was unaware of how fast things have gone.

So this 2-way love thing is really working for me ;)
