In the article about moving to Amsterdam when she was talking about Dutch cuisine, she forgot to mention Stroopwafels and Kroepoek! (though I’m not sure if Kroepoek is Dutch food really, but I found out about it from a Dutch guy) :)

haha, stroopwafels can hardly be called ‘cuisine’, but ok, they are certainly yummie and very Dutch. Kroepoek was introduced to the Dutch by the Chinese restaurants :-p, it also has some cross-overs with Indonesian culture. Indonesian cuisine, now THAT’S what the Dutch are famous for :-p
-
I’d be happy to have stroopwafels for dessert following any kind of dinner, high cuisine or not :)
Stroopwafels and a nice cup of coffee. The perfect end to any day :)

You certainly know your stuff :-p

God that “Wazuuuup” sketch took me back a couple years :)! This was a great parody. Just to think that this sketch had been drowned and forgotten in the flood of parodies that came after it. Now, here it is as another tool in pushing support for Obama’s campaign. I’ve gotta say, it’s impressive for sure.

1999, to be precise :-p
I know, man, I’m also in awe with the level of creativity and the sheer volume of it.

Responding to the SF Bike Plan link:
It is so frustrating that the world is picking up on the loony here in San Francisco. This is a city that wants to make it illegal to not recycle and compost and yet we are strangled by this lonely, attention- seeking old fart who wouldn’t know what to do with a bicycle if it ran him over. I should send you some of the footage I have of my ‘bicycle lane’ rides so you can see what this guy’s legacy is.

I’ve been following this story since the New York Times gave this nutter cred by publishing an entire page on him.
I know SF very well, rode my bike there many times, so I know exactly what you mean, Adrienne.

WHAT TO DO NOW?
