From China Daily comes a cute tale:
Couple court and tie the knot on bicycle wheels
A Chongqing man went to fetch his bride-to-be for their wedding day with more than a hundred cyclists riding along with them.
The teacher, whose net name is Huangniu Zhuli, said he fell in love with his wife at first sight.
When he learned the girl’s favorite hobby was cycling and that her net name at an online cycling club was Huangniu, he registered as Huangniu Zhuli, or assistant of Huangniu, and began riding himself.
And it all worked because he managed to win her heart and hand in marriage.
More than 100 of their online friends from the cycling club joined his peloton, which attracted many curious onlookers along the way on Nov 23.
Obviously this reminds me of a scene I encountered when I exited Vondelpark sometime last summer.
The worldwide resurgence of normal cycling lets me believe this is bound to become more common, reported on or not. I also think it’s way more fun. Let’s see if this image is truly sustainable… as in that the number of divorces will actually go down :-p.
