I think so, too. I've launched myself over the handlebars at one point, blamed myself for that silly mistake and this got nested in my brain permanently…just like all the other mishaps I lived through from childhood on, I think I've now accumulated all categories ;).

:D Poor her! it is a sore experience, but all of us wannabe Dutch riders go through it. I think of it as an initiation ritual, you know?

It happened to me when I was starting to ride with confidence around Gent. There hasn't been a second time.

As I said in Lauren's blog, I was cycling with a guest around Amsterdam not so long ago, and he put his wheel in the tram lines (between De Munt and Rembrandt plein) as I reminded him to be careful. He was quite badly bruised too, but luckily it was 4am and we were in no state to feel pain. A stop at FEBO, an Ice pack at home, and nearly as good as new :D
