The “vroeger was alles beter” is just a coincidence. The pic is from the 1930s I think.
Now if you would have combined the quote with the blog owner's name, that would have been sick …

cool, Frits…thought long and hard and I truly think I'm not a whiner…more of the type 'the glass is half full' ;). PS, there is this guy in A'dam who rides around town with his Jack Russell on his shoulders, strapped down. Of course, he's old school :)

I just read this in an article about cycling Sydney:

The vice-president of Bicycle NSW, Richard Birdsey, said European bikes were not what local riders needed. ''Upright bikes are all well and good in low speed and flat environments, but I don't think they are suitable for what you have here in Sydney,'' he said. ''They are designed, without sounding sexist, for women (!!!).

''If you are moving in the serious traffic here you need something a bit quick, something you can throw around, something more performance oriented.''

Maybe you could do a fotoseries about butch young men on bikes in Amsterdam :-).

Our spring has been a bit fitful so far – everything is blooming, and the temperature has been rising, but mostly it's still been a bit grey and drizzly. Looking forward to the days of brighter sunshine to make those blooming flowers really glow.
